Data Debrief: Ngumoha replicates Rooney
Ngumoha only becomes 17 years old on Friday and he is now the fourth-young goal scorer in the history of Premier League.
Only James Vaughan (16 years, 270 days), James Milner (16 years, 356 days) and Wayne Rooney (16 years, 360 days) scored at a younger age than Ngumoha.
In the meantime, only Rooney has scored a winning goal at a younger age, famous to fire Everton for the victory against Arsenal in October 2002. Rooney was a day older than Ngumoha on that day.
Ngumoha also became the youngest Premier League goalkeeper in Liverpool, and he could hardly have chosen a more dramatic way to get off the goal.
Timed at 99 minutes and 44 seconds, his strike was the fourth master winner of the Premier League on record, and the last one since Cole Palmer hit Chelsea in April 2024 against Manchester United (100: 41).
