Newcastle United injury update on THREE stars after scans

Newcastle has received a triple fitness boost with the Carabao Cup final in mind after Scans revealed that three important players have avoided serious injuries.

Mail Sport can only reveal that Anthony Gordon, then Burn and Sven Botman, are not confronted with long spells on the sidelines, despite the fears that pop up last weekend.

Gordon missed the 3-2 FA Cup victory in Birmingham with a quad problem and Botman also stayed at home due to a knee problem. Burn was then enforced in the second half with a groin complaint.

Eddie Howe then spoke about his concern about injuries that started, especially with the Carabao Cup final against Liverpool just over a month away.

However, we understand that the Gordon's thigh problem has disappeared and it should be good to be faced with Manchester City on Saturday. That will be a huge relief for Howe, since wing player Harvey Barnes is still two weeks away from a return after injuring his thigh. But it is the news in the defense that might be of the biggest comfort to the head coach and supporters.

The decision of Newcastle to allow defender Lloyd Kelly to join Juventus in January, it was made with the knowledge that Botman and Burns were fit and were competitive for the left-sided center-back position. Botman then knocked on his knee during the Carabao Cup victory last week on Arsenal before burning what looked like a potentially serious Liesstam at St Andrew's.

However, the results of scans on both players are considered positive, so that the fear removes that Newcastle can not be left enough in the run -up to their Wembley date. However, their recording for the trip to Etihad remains in question. Neither of the players is no pain yet and a late call will be made for their availability. Emil Krafth put that on Stand-by to start with the center of the Fabian Schar.

In the meantime, Newcastle is coming after signing Malaga wing player Antonio Cordero. Mail Sport revealed Monday that conversations had taken place and the Magpies had been set to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid for the signing of the 18-year-old, who is a free agent in the summer. We understand that the player has indicated that he wants to become a member of the club and it is expected that a deal should be announced in due course.
