‘Next Salah’ scores in front of Man Utd scouts after Liverpool and Arsenal links

Omar Marmoush continued his impressive season for Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday evening, scoring for Manchester United scouts.

The Egyptian star scored a decisive penalty as the Bundesliga side recorded a 2-1 victory away from home against Midtjylland in the Europa League. Marmoush has now scored an impressive fifteen goals and eleven assists in eighteen appearances this season.

The 25-year-old has made headlines across Europe for his good form and is said to be attracting interest across the continent. Both Liverpool and Arsenal have expressed interest in the player and scouts from several European giants were in attendance in Denmark to watch his latest appearance.

Representatives from Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona, Tottenham, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Villarreal and FC Köln were present in Herning per Tipsbladet, with Marmoush likely to be top of the agenda for the clubs with deeper pockets.

Marmoush is said to already be under treatment at Liverpool as the Reds try to put in place a succession plan for Mohamed Salah. The Premier League legend publicly revealed that he has yet to receive a contract offer from the club before his contract expires at the end of the season.

Inevitably, the Egyptian duo has seen comparisons. Salah has argued for his 25-year-old international teammate to be judged on his own merits, but praised his abilities.

“I think he has great potential,” said Salah. “He is an important player for his team and the national team.

“I want to stop making comparisons to make his life easier. I want people to stop comparing him to me, saying he will be the new Salah and do what he did and surpass it.

“That will put pressure on him all the time and not help the player. You compare him to a player who has been very successful in recent years, but he is still at the beginning of his career.”

However, former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen believes Marmoush could fit in at Old Trafford. The Dutchman told Egyptian news channel Al Qahera: “Marmoush has great potential and could be a valuable addition to any big club, including Manchester United.

“He is very skilled and can score goals. He is performing well with Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga and has already attracted the attention of a number of Premier League clubs. I think he has the talent to succeed in the Premier League if he can get the get a chance.”
