Neymar has opened the door to a move to Inter Miami by suggesting he is keen to revive his partnership with former Barcelona teammates Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Neymar's contract with Saudi Pro League champions Al-Hilal expires in June as injuries limit the Brazilian to just seven games since joining the club in 2023.
He turns 33 in February and MLS is seen as a possible next step, with Supporters' Shield holders Miami reportedly keen to reform one of the most respected attacking trios in European football history.
Neymar, Messi and Suarez played together for three years at Barcelona from 2014 – when the latter joined from Liverpool – until 2017, when Neymar left for Paris Saint-Germain.
During those three seasons (2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17), Messi (153), Suarez (121) and Neymar (90) plundered 364 goals in all competitions.
Messi registered a total of 219 goals, with Suarez adding 180 and Neymar 138 for a remarkable total of 537 direct goals from the trio.
In that time, Barcelona have won LaLiga twice and the Copa del Rey three times, while also lifting the Champions League once, Club World Cup and Supercopa de Espana.
The 'MSN' partnership could yet be revived, with Neymar not closing the door on a possible move to Miami, where Messi and Suarez are both under contract until at least the end of the 2025 season.
“It would of course be incredible to play with Messi and Suarez again,” he told CNN Sport. “They are my friends. We still speak to each other. It would be interesting to revive this trio.
“I'm happy at Al-Hilal, I'm happy in Saudi Arabia, but who knows? Football is full of surprises.
“When the news broke that I was leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the transfer window in the United States was closed so I didn't have this option.
“The project they offered me was very good, not only for me but also for my family, so going to Saudi Arabia was the best option.”
Neymar hopes to be in the United States for next year's World Cup as he tries to end Brazil's long wait to lift the trophy for a sixth time.
The Selecao are toiling in fifth place in the CONMEBOL qualifying group, but Neymar – who has scored eight goals in 13 World Cup appearances – is confident in their new team.
“I will try. I want to be there. I will do everything I can to be part of the national team,” Neymar said of the 2026 World Cup.
“I know this will be my last World Cup, my last chance, my last chance and I will do everything I can to play in it.
“I have a lot of confidence in the team, in the players who are coming up, who are young. It is a young team. Today we are not in a position where we would like to be.”
“I think we can achieve something very big together. We have a year, a year and a half to work and do the right things to reach the World Cup.”
