Brazilian side Santos are close to taking out a loan to bring Neymar Junior back to the club in 2025.
Neymar started his playing career at Santos, where he scored an impressive 136 goals in 225 games, before moving to Barcelona in 2013 at the age of 21.
The Brazil international won three league titles, plus the Copa Libertadores in his native country, before making the move to Catalonia and his ties with his first club remain strong.
The 32-year-old has indicated he wants to move from Saudi Pro League side Al Hilal in 2025 as his contract expires at the end of the season.
Santos has given several hints about the ongoing negotiations and the talks have taken a new turn.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, an offer for a six-month loan has been sent to Al Hilal through multiple sources in Brazil, with a response expected soon.
Santos are confident they have beaten the MLS competition for the veteran striker and a loan spell would end his time in Riyadh.
