Neymar’s agent holds Barcelona transfer talks despite Brazil return

The Neymar agent reportedly held conversations with Barcelona about a sensational return to the club next summer.

Neymar spent four seasons in Barcelona and helped them to win the Champions League and two LaLiga titles before he came to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a world record compensation worth around £ 200 million.

The 33-year-old recently returned to Boyhood Club Santos after his deal with the Saudi Arab club Al-Hilal ended by mutual permission, but he only signed a short-term contract because he returns injury after a serious ACL.

Neymar has made an impressive start at Santos and has so far recorded five target contributions in six league games, and a report from the Spanish Outlet Sport claims that the attacker is enthusiastic about a return to Barcelona.

The report states that his agent, Pini Zahavi, contacted the club to offer Neymar's services to a free transfer when his deal with Santos is finished. However, Barcelona would have doubts about the deal.

Barcelona's financial situation is a major problem, where the club is currently not sure if they should sell players before they can make new signing sessions. Neymar is currently not a 'preferred candidate', but the report notes that the fact that it is available for a free transfer and would be willing to accept a 'reasonable' wage that the relocation is possible.

Santos' President Marcelo Teixeira recently said that he was convinced that Neymar would stay in Brazil until the World Cup 2026. “With the arrival of Neymar we have 75,000 members,” Teixeira told ESPN.

“Nowadays we can measure what is related to the technical aspect, which represents the financial aspect. All financial objectives will be increased, above what we have estimated before. If all goes well, the tendency is that this partnership will continue and will be expanded to the Next year's World Cup.

Neymar's return to Santos is an emotional, with the winger who gives back after his first game earlier this month: “I love Santos. I have no words to describe what I felt tonight when I stepped on this field again.

“I need minutes, games. I am not 100%. I did not expect that I would run like that and dribble tonight. I think I will feel better in four or five games.”
