Neymar’s Saudi nightmare close to finally ending after manager’s brutal comments

Neymar is currently in talks over a shock move in the MLS, with Al-Hilal failing to register him amid fears the Brazilian will be unable to reach his former heights.

A move to Chicago Fire is now on the cards for the ex-Barcelona and PSG man, who has endured a nightmare since moving to Saudi Arabia. The world's most expensive player opted to leave Paris for the Middle East, but injuries and form have marred his spell.

The Eastern Conference side can make a deal work financially and negotiations with Neymar's representatives continue as he considers joining former teammate Lionel Messi in the United States.

Neymar's minutes will be limited going forward, with Al-Hilal boss Jorge Jesus confirming that the Brazilian will NOT be registered for league matches, meaning the player will be limited to only Asian Champions League matches for the rest of the season .

Jesus said: “The Saudi League is one of the best leagues in the world. All Al-Hilal players can play for any club in Europe. Neymar can no longer play at the level we are used to. It has become difficult for him. Unfortunately, he is still under contract with Al-Hilal and it may be up to him to decide his future.

“It depends on the administration. I don't know anything about Neymar's future. We have a place available on the list, reserved for a player born in 2003 or later.”

Chicago has Neymar on their Discovery List. Under MLS rules, clubs are allowed to have a maximum of five players on their roster, meaning no other league rival can sign Neymar – or even hold talks – unless Chicago gives him the green light.

Neymar looks like he has to look for a new employer, anywhere in the world. Since moving to Saudi Arabia for a record £77million, he has made just seven appearances and scored one goal, with his club left to regret the poor investment.

Their sights are now set on Mohamed Salah as they begin talks about a move to land the Liverpool forward on a lucrative deal once his Liverpool contract expires this summer. Al-Hilal are currently at the top of the Pro League and have the likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic, Ruben Neves and Joao Cancelo in their squad.
