Midfielder Nico Gonzalez has completed a relocation of £ 50 million to Manchester City from Porto.
City had already punished £ 130 million in the January -window, which brought Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vorror Reis.
The signing of Gonzalez has brought the total edition of the city to £ 180 million with Central Middenveld as a priority position to strengthen.
Gonzalez said: “This is the perfect opportunity for me in this phase of my career. I am 23 and I want to test myself in England. There is no better club than Manchester City to do that.
“There is no football player in the world who would not want to be part of this setup. I know the reputation that Pep has and I can't wait to work with him. I am actually honored that he wants me to play in his team . “
The 23-year-old joined the Barcelona academy in 2013 and made 27 performances before he arrived at Porto in a deal of € 8.5 million in 2023. Barcelona owes 40 percent of the compensation that Porto has received.
Gonzalez, who had been followed by Man City since his teenager, scored seven goals and recorded six assists in 29 performances so far this season.
City was beaten 5-1 by Arsenal in the Emirates on Sunday and are now 15 points behind the Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Man City had to strengthen: they are being destroyed
Sky Sports' Gary Neville:
“They are destroyed and dismantled in midfield. There are fantastic players there, but there is no balance.
“Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic when the pace against Arsenal increased, it was so difficult for them. Man City had to strengthen.”
Merson: Panic city in panic on Gonzalez
Sky Sports' Paul Merson on Deadline Day:
“I haven't seen this boy play, so don't know too much about him. But they need players in midfield. Many people say it's not just Rodri. It's just Rodri.
“Rodri sees danger, Rodri is disciplined, Rodri stays in the middle, he comes forward and leans back and also protects the backline, and he passes the ball through the line very quickly.
“I love Mateo Kovacic, but he will pass and dribble with the ball and people end up completely out of position. He and Bernardo Silva have been ruined in Arsenal in the last 30 minutes.
“If you take the 30 minutes away and the first 20, the city was very good at Arsenal. It was a good version.
“The problem is that Gonzalez comes in for £ 50 million, as soon as Rodri's is fit, that's it. I don't think he plays. Unless you play them together and I don't think you should.
“This is the problem with wages and buying players, you forget that this man is sitting on the couch with big money by the start of the following season. You then look at James Mcatee with a brilliant future and they will have to sell him the Fair play rules. It's a knock-on effect.
