Dominick Cruz believes that the new Co-Main event of UFC 313 will only end one way.
The recently retired two -time Bantam weight champion fought his last war in the Achthoek.
Now he looks forward to looking at them, starting with Justin Gaethje vs Rafael Fiziev 2 on UFC 313.
Dan Hooker broke his hand and pulled back from his fight last week with 'The Highlight' before being replaced by Rafael Fiziev, who now gets the chance to avenge his most famous defeat in Las Vegas on March 8.
Justin Gaethje and Rafael Fiziev try to get hits on top of each other during their UFC 286 fight.
Dominick Cruz makes hospital forecast
Justin Gaethje Kwadraat first against his UFC 313 opponent in the O2 Arena in London in March 2023.
The lightweight duo delivered pure chaos for three rounds when they collided in the UFC 286 Co-Main event, which ended with Gaethje, which was handled a decision victory before both men were checked in a local hospital.
Cruz does not know who will win the Rematch, but he is sure that another hospital visit is needed.
“It is a great opportunity for Fiziev and I am tipping my hat to Gaethje to give the opportunity,” the UFC legend recently told Helen Yee.
“There are not many boys willing to do rematches because they know. “Okay, I defeated this guy and I don't want to give him another chance to defeat myself.” Boys don't always give rematches. I have had a few rivalry where I had to rematch and it is a different game if you have to prepare for the same man.
“He said this in short, but I know that Gaethje has prepared for a very hard fight, so it's probably just par for the course for him to just adapt to a different style.
“A pure kick boxer, not much struggling, he goes to Gaethje. So it will be a nice fight, just as it was the first time. They both went to the hospital. I have no doubt that it will be in the same way this time. “
Does Justin Gaethje get the next lightweight title shot?
Islam Makhachev quickly submitted Renato Moicano to defend the lightweight title on UFC 311 in January.
The pound-for-pound King weighs his options for his next fight, because there is no obvious number one at 155 pounds.
Ilia Topuria seems to fill for the matchup after recently renounced his UFC -Fedweight title.
Gaethje has also shown interest to be confronted with Makhachev after he was previously choked by his teammate, Khabib Nurmagomedov, on UFC 254 in October 2020.
Cruz believes that an impressive performance could land Gaethje next weekend the Makhachev fight.
He added: “I think it will always be on the fighting performance that evening.
“What the fight looks like. How the fight comes together. How it ends.
“That will tell the story for the next step, Gaethje gets, I think.”
