Russell Martin has claimed that everything is calm behind the scenes at Rangers, despite the furious reaction of supporters on the capitulation against Club Brugge on Tuesday.
With the team three goals within 20 minutes of the first stage of their Champions League play-off at Ibrox, thousands of fans made the exit with those who stayed the team during the break.
While Danilo took a goal in the second half, the outcome expanded a difficult start of life in the dugout for Martin.
Still without a Premiership victory prior to Sunday with St Mirren, the manager is faced with a tough fight to win a fan base that is largely not impressed by what they have seen so far.
But the 39-year-old insists that the mood of the club's hierarchy has not changed with the adverse results and is firmly convinced that there is a concept of their part that it can take time for his work to bear fruit.
“I have had nothing but support from Andrew (Cavenagh, chairman), Paraag (Marathe, Vice chairman), Gretar (Steinsson, technical director of 49ers), Kevin (Thelwell, sports director) and Patrick (Stewart, CEO),” he said.
'All employees here have been fantastic. They understand that you have to build something. It can take some time.
“And that's why I have the job. It wasn't a simple process, but I really wanted it. Eventually they decided that they wanted me after many conversations.
'It's only if you are in somewhere, and it's the same for them, then you start seeing, okay, this has to sort, that must be sorted. Then you have to give priority.
'So our task on the field is to give priority to the things that have hurt us a little at the moment.
'And their task is the same off the field – to ensure that we are in a really good place and we actually have some basis to build. They are great, really supportive.
'They have been great in terms of the transfer window. I can't wait until that closes. I am pretty sure that they will feel the same.
“But everyone is calm inside and everyone simply focuses on what we can influence.”
Martin has so far drawn 10 players, but still wants to add some old heads by the time the window closes on 1 September.
“The team would benefit from having a number of experienced players on the field who are used to the great occasion,” he added.
'They would be sure to help their teammates, because we have many young boys who grow in it and they will get better and better.
'I think it goes without saying that if you look at the back of a successful team, there are some real experienced guys and you can always trust them.
'Even if they will not be eight or nine out of 10, you know exactly what you get every week.
'It is something we have been aware of from the start of the window. If we could find a few, it would be great. '
Cyriel Dessers is not available for the short trip to Paisley, although the Nigeria International has a chance to appear in Belgium's return bone.
Hamza Igamane, who came off the couch in the midweek, is not ready to start with, which means that Danilo will again lead the line.
“He probably only had five or six training sessions,” Martin explained from Igamane. “He came back very late and of course he had a few injuries.
'It is the balance between him to train, then do extra conditioning, but be ready to perform quietly. He is not far away, but he is not quite there yet. '
The manager confirmed that Ridvan Yilmaz, Ben Davies and Jose Cifuentes are close to leaving the club.
Yilmaz will seal a permanent step back to Besiktas, Davies will connect Oxford United, while Cifuentes is ready to move to MLS Side Toronto FC, also on loan.
“They are three good guys who have to play football elsewhere and they have movements that they are happy with and that we are happy with,” Martin confirmed.
“So I think it will certainly help them and help us move forward.”
