‘Not a fight fan’ … UFC 317 star Payton Talbott opens up on ‘unexpected’ friendship with Frank Ocean

UFC Fighter Payton Talbott has no idea how he became friends with Frank Ocean.

The 26-year-old UFC-Bantam weight came back to the win column at UFC 317 last weekend.

A very exhausted prospect, Talbott lost his undefeated record by veteran Raoni Barcelos earlier this year at UFC 311 and recovered with a decision victory on fellow ProSpect Felipe Lima on the UFC 317 Pay-per-View.

Although not -Geslingerd, Talbott has gathered the presence on social media for his knockouts and personality, with nearly 300,000 followers on Instagram, one of which is the famous singer Frank Ocean.

After his fight on UFC 317, Talbott was asked how he became friends with Ocean.

“He just contacted me after my fight a year ago at the International Fight Week and we just kept in contact,” Talbott said on the Ariel Helwani show.

“We spent a few times and we just had a lot of appreciation for each other and our respective career.”

A big fan of his music, Talbott said that Ocean is 'not a fighting fan'.

“It was quite strange,” Talbott said about the singer who approached him.

“Just unexpectedly in the beginning. The last person I expected. But after he met him, he is just a normal person. He is a very special person and very gifted, and just brilliant.

“I don't know,” Talbott said, when he was asked how Ocean found him.

“The universe simply connects people and has a strange way with the strings.”

“There are many parallels between being an artist and martial arts and music. We can only talk about how similar it is to performs and putting together your craft and your image,” Talbott added.

Frank Ocean saw Payton Talbott's last victory over UFC 317

Talbott showed major steps since his last defeat at UFC 311.

Five months away from the loss of Barcelos, Talbott seemed a lot improved in the Gravling department against Lima and defended 12 of the 15 Takedown attempts.

Although Talbott did not pick up De Knock -out, the prospect went viral for a position in which he was during the third round of his fight.

Talbott had top control with his head near Lima's Ass and Lima was in the lower position and had his head near Talbott's cross area.

Ocean has posted the screenshot again on his Instagram story with a crying face and heart emoji.
