‘Not at all’… Dana White shuts down any idea that he’ll have to grant Max Holloway the same dream as Dustin Poirier

The UFC has made a rare exception for one of the most beloved hunters on the Roster, but this will not occur regularly.

Dustin Poirier announced his retirement in advance before UFC 318 was confirmed as his last dance.

In a somewhat surprising step of the UFC, the promotion plans to give Poirier the perfect broadcast in his home state Louisiana.

July 19 will take him the walk the last time, while Poirier is on the line with the BMF -Riem on the line for the third time.

Unfortunately for Holloway he may not receive the same special treatment as soon as he decides to call time on his own legendary career.

Dana White says that he will not give Max Holloway a pension fight in Hawaii, only for accepting UFC 318

During his featherweight title run in particular there was a big dream that Max Holloway wanted to check while he was on top of the sport.

'Blessed' dreamed of bringing the Octagon back to his home country Hawaii, so that the fan of the fan could set up a show for his people.

Just like other destinations in which the UFC has not yet arrived, there are several important problems with Hawaii as a location, where a suitable location is one of them.

In an interview with Spinnin Backfist, Dana White was asked if after giving Dustin Poirier his pension fight for his home fans, whether he should do the same for Holloway after 'blessed' accepted the role of spoiler.

White said that although he would like to do an event in Hawaii, he will not commit himself to it only because of how UFC 318 came together.

“No, not at all. The UFC Hawaii card is a challenge. Believe me, nobody would rather go to Hawaii than me and pick up an event. I would like to do it, it has just been very challenging in recent years.”

Dana White also pushes back to Max Holloway who goes to enemy territory

For some hunters it would be the last opponent of Dustin Poirier and taking the walk in Louisiana is a losing situation.

The person who retires 'The Diamond' for his home fans is a difficult place to be in, but someone like Max Holloway is perfect for this.

'Blessed' is so respected and loved by the fans that they will not be hostile to him, even if they want Poirier to have lifted his hand.

In response to whether he will owe Holloway a one after UFC 318, Dana White disputes the idea that the former champion will be positioned as the bad guy.

“I don't know if Max is going to enemy territory. Both boys are so loved by everyone. This is one of those fights, you know it will be a bada – fight and you are behind that someone should lose it … I have never come across an MMA fan who didn't love Max Holloway.”
