‘Not like I haven’t done nothing!’… UFC record holder reacts to being labelled Belal Muhammad’s training partner

A veteran with 55 fights spoke after his status and last name was considerably reduced in promotion images.

Belal Muhammad is preparing to defend his welterweight title against Jack della Maddalena in the main event of UFC 315 on 10 May.

Although Mohammed is often criticized by fans for some of the daring statements he makes in interviews and on social media, the 170-pound champion appears to be a big presence in the gym.

Fight -fans saw the relationship he has with his teammates last weekend at UFC 313, where Muhammad shared a moving moment with Ignacio Bahamondes.

One of his training partners and coaches recently played in a video with 'Remember the Name' where his title and meaning was demolished, which attracted his attention on social media.

Gerald Meerschaert responds to promotion images and mentions him as sparring partner of Belal Muhammad

With most finishes in the history of UFC Middleweight, Gerald Meerschaert has been a staple of the selection since he signed in the promotion in 2016.

'GM3' suffered a submission loss in the previous time, but he is back to get himself in the win column on 5 April, where he will compete against colleague veteran Brad Tavares.

Meerschaert recently commented on a video that was put out of him to train with Belal Muhammad, with the way he was labeled.

In an interview with Inside Fighting, the 37-year-old referred to some promo images, which can be seen below via Moose Rash Guards, which said he was not sure whether it was for the UFC or not.

During a conversation between them, the name tag of Meerschaert appears and mentions him as “Gerald Merch – Sparring Partner”.

“I am not super famous or something, but it is not as if it is difficult to find out who I am and they put the first half of my last name and they even spelled that wrong. So they miss as half of my last name and then they mention it as Gerald Merch and they had me as his sparring partner. ”

Meerschaert further explained in the same interview that his reaction to the video became much deeper than his name that was completely wrong.

As a 22-Vecht veteran and grab coach in the gym, he believes that he deserves a little more credit than just being credited as a sparring partner.

Next month is another big one for the Belal Muhammad team at VFS

Fresh from the impressive victory of Ignacio Bahamonds on UFC 313 that earned him a place in the ranking, the VFS Academy team will try to keep this momentum going.

Before Belal Muhammad UFC 315 heads in Montreal, another of his teammates has a huge fight in Miami.

Former title challenge Yair Rodriguez will welcome Patricio Pitbull in the UFC next month in a huge collision at 145 pounds.

Some tension between Rodriguez and Pitbull has made this fight a must-watch, even with its controversial placement as the recommended Prelim for UFC 314.
