Nuno: Forest must ‘respect’ their squad by signing more players

Nottingham Forest must bring in more players before the end of the transfer window, says Nuno Espirito Santo.

Forest has been busy in the market lately, with four new signing sessions that have arrived in the last 10 days in the form of James McATee, Douglas Luiz, Arnaud Kalimuendo and Club-record Acquisition Omari Hutchinson.

Dan Ndoye, Angus Gunn, Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus arrived earlier in the transfer window, while Forest wants to find an agreement with Strasbourg to sign winger Dilane Bakwa.

The future of Nuno has meanwhile dominated the headlines for the past five days.

The former Wolves and Tottenham Boss said on Friday that his relationship with owner Evangelos Marinakis had deteriorated, while it was extensively reported that Nuno does not see forest's global football Edu Gaspar.

Nuno, however, still wants to see more new faces through the door before the Deadline transfer on 1 September.

“There are things that I can't control myself. What I said is, and I have thought about it for a long time, is my concern for the team,” he said.

“These guys achieved something fantastic last season. If we as a club do not help them in terms of numbers, in terms of quality and talent, everything will go.

“So we have ahead of the Premier League, Europa League, Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

“You know how many games this means for us. This is the respect that we have to show our team. Help them.”

After Sunday's draw, Nuno confirmed with Crystal Palace that he would hold conversations with Edu and Marinakis this week.
