Oban Elliott ‘fraud checked’ in massive upset loss to debuting fighter at UFC Baku

Top Welterweight Prospect Oban Elliott suffered his first UFC loss at UFC Baku.

'The Welsh Gangster' had a banner year in the UFC after obtaining a promotion contract on Dana White's Contender Series in 2023. Oban Elliott started his run in the Octagon with three consecutive victories in 2024 and later asked for a fight with inaugural Jorge Masvid.

The non -hunted Elliott was confronted with the most difficult test of his career when he took on the Korean Tyson 'Seokhyeon Ko at UFC Baku.

Elliott stood a huge 5-on-1 gambling favorite against the debuting Ko.

However, the grabbads would not reflect the fight, whereby Ko cashed in a large upset about the highly affected 12-2 prospect.

Oban Elliott made claims after skewed loss against Seokhyeon Ko with 'fraud control'

Ko Brak Elliott's 8-Fight Win Streak on Fight Night and hit him wherever the fight went.

Elliott only threw ten important strikes over 15 minutes. Ko had four times as many total strikes and landed six Takedown attempts.

Ko achieved 10 minutes of control time for a 30-27 unanimous decision victory in Elliott and won every round of their welterweight matchup.

Elliott would not hear the end after his first UFC defeat.

“Oban Elliot receives fraud controlled by Ko (who makes his debut) is not something that I had expected,” wrote a fan on X.

“Imagine that in 15 minutes you land 13 important strikes in a fight where you are a favorite. Oban Elliott, everyone.” said another fan.

“Shortest favorite of the night. 8 Fight Win Streak. 3 Fight UFC Win Streak. Totally embarrassed. Nightmare Matchup makes that Monster on debut,” said a fan that Elliott lost to KO.

“What a total mismatch,” said another fan in the midst of the 'fraud check' claims.

Seokhyeon Ko -trains with UFC 'Stun Gun' Dong Hyun Kim

Overlooked by the Oddmakers, the 12-2 Seokhyeon Ko made it five victories in a row by dominating Oban Elliott.

Just like his opponent, the South Korean drew last September at the UFC of the Contender Series of Dana White.

Although he is new to the Achthoek, Ko trained with a number of hunters who have been there and did that in the UFC.

One of KO's most important training partners is 'Stun Gun' Dong Hyun Kim, a former UFC candidate for welter weight who went an impressive 13-4 in the promotion where he fought the best in the world for almost decade.

Ko also trains with people like 21-Fight veteran Yushin Okami.
