Arsenal saw their hope to complete the season with a trophy that was brutally ended on Wednesday evening after he fell to PSG and Martin Odegaard has now revealed where the side went wrong
Martin Odegaard claims, as a team that Arsenal was not strong enough in both criminal areas in their Champions League exit versus PSG. The Gunners collapsed from the competition in the semi -final stage after they had been beaten by the French side.
A 1-0 defeat at the Emirates was followed by a 2-1 reverse in the French capital as the side of Luis Enrique progressed to the last versus Inter Milan of this month. In the end it was a lack of threat that eventually cost Arsenal in their semi -final – an assessment that Odegaard showed.
Odegaard said after the defeat, “We tried it well. We started the game really well. We were on the front foot, had the momentum, a few big chances, but in the end it wasn't enough.
“We did well between the boxes, within the two over the two games that we were not good enough. The honor to their keeper who made great saves. It was not enough and that is painful.
“In the boxes, especially today, what we did with the ball between the boxes we dominated the ball and from the start we took control of the game. We were not strong enough in the boxes and there we lost it.
“It is painful, we wanted to do the big thing, a big goal in the competition and the Champions League. Massive disappointment, but we have to stay strong and together. Take the lessons, take the pain and use it to come back stronger.
“We have to learn from this. We have done many good things, but it is not enough. For the goal is where games are determined and that is where we should be sharper. We have to use this pain in a good way.”
Elsewhere Arsenal -Baas Mikel Arteta also offered his view of the defeat. And although he was disappointed about the finish of his side, the Spaniard decided to concentrate on the performance of PSG -stop Gianluigi Donnarumma instead.

He said: “I am very proud to coach the players we have, and in that we create opportunities and situations and normally they are goals. But again, sometimes you have to applaud the position, what the keeper did, not just in this draw, in both times – he won the game for them.
“And you need that to win a competition, you need that. In one of the two boxes, someone has to do something special to win it for you and let it happen, and that was the difference.”
