Rennes has signed Angers SCO Striker Estéban Lepaul (25), both clubs have announced.
The 25-year-old has signed a four-year-old deal with Les Rouge et Noir. Rennes reportedly agreed to a transfer package of € 15 million with Angers for the latter to renounce their danger. The stock of Lepaul shot up last season after 13 goals in all competitions for his first full season with Angers. He will now Rennes' Nr. 9 Jersey wearing vacant after the transfer of Arnaud Kalimuendo to Nottingham Forest.
With Angers, Lepaul played 50 times and registered 17 goals and three assists. He is ready to return quickly at Stade Raymond-Kopa, since Rennes Hoorns will lock with Alexandre Dujeux's Angers side this Sunday. “I feel that I am taking an important step in my career. I know the ideas of the coach about the game, and I think this is a project in which I can thrive,” said the former Ol Academy graduate. Lepaul is the fifth summer signing for Rennes after Valentin Rongier, Quentin Merlin, Przemyslaw Frankowski and Mahdi Camara.
