OFFICIAL: Amad Diallo has sustained an ankle injury – out for a number of weeks

Man United confirms that Amad has sustained an ankle injury during the training that is expected to keep him out for a few weeks.

The club statement:

Manchester United Ace Amad has sworn to “come back stronger” after an ankle injury.

Our ruling player of the month sustained the problem in the training in Carrington, prior to the kick -off of 16:30 GMT on Sunday in Tottenham in the Premier League.

It is clear that he will miss the game on a land where he has already scored this season, in the Carabao Cup, and is now expected to be out of operation for a few weeks.

“Extremely disappointed to write this message in such a crucial time of the season,” he posted on his social media accounts. “Unfortunately I will end up with an injury for a while.

“I will come back stronger than ever !!

“Time to support the boys from outside. Yet it loads to play for.”

Head coach Ruben Amorim had mentioned a number of problems in the training during the training during Friday's press conference, but did not identify the players in question.

Amad is this term in excellent form. In addition to our top scorer in the competition, he is a joint-top sniper in all competitions, together with skipper Bruno Fernandes.

His great performances made him clearly one of the favorites to get the Jimmy Murphy Player of the Year prize from the club before 2024/25.

Everyone at United wishes Amad a quick recovery and sends our hottest wishes to him, after this unfortunate setback.
