The top scorer in the history of Atleti has expanded his contract with the club, which would expire in 2026.
Antoine Griezmann and Atlético de Madrid reached an agreement until 30 June 2027 to renew the contract of the French football player.
The striker came to our club in 2014. After nine seasons with Athleti – spread over two spells – he is the top scorer in the history of the club with 197 goals, which surpassed the 173 by the large Luis Aragonés. He is also the eighth player with the most performances (442), as well as the third non-Spanish player on the list behind only his teammates Oblak and Correa.
Griezmann has won one Spanish Super Cup (2014), one UEFA Super Cup (2018) and one UEFA Europa League (2018), in which he resulted in a brace in the final in our 3-0 win over Olympique de Marseille. A brilliant end of the club season was followed by the World Cup that same year in Russia, where he was crowned champion with France and played a key role for Les Bleus.
Moreover, the Frenchman scored the first goal ever in the Riyadh Air Metropolitano.
This season Griezmann played 53 games, delivered 16 goals and offered nine assists.
