AFC Bournemouth is delighted to announce the signing of the French center Bafodé Diakité of Ligue 1 side, Lille OSC.
The 24-year-old arrives with a lot of playing experience, with 107 times for Lille in all competitions. Earlier from Toulouse he made his Ligue 1 debut just 17 years in a 1-0 win over Reims.
Diakite immediately links the team of Andoni Iraola, which is opposite Liverpool on Friday evening in the Premier League seal opener.
“We are very happy to welcome Bafodé in the club,” said Tiago Pinto, the president of AFC Bournemouth's president of football operations.
“He is someone who has already played a lot of games, even though he is still early in his career, and his ambition is something that fits very well with that of the club.”
“We are really happy to add him to our team alongside our other new additions in Adrian Truffert and Djordje Petrovic, as well as Junior Kroupi who has been to the team this summer.”
“I am really happy to be here and I am very enthusiastic to start with the team. I know that the coach has great ideas that enables us to play well in the Premier League. Now I am at the club, it is a good opportunity to show how I can help the team to go in the future.”
“I am a defender who likes to have the ball and plays with it, and I hope to show my qualities, both with and without. I will give everything for the team and I hope we will have a number of great moments together.”
Diakité wears the number 18 shirt for the cherries.
