Hiroki Ito joins the long Letel list of Bayern Munich after he has broken Metatarsal again
Ito, 25, went downstairs with his foot in the 89th minute of Bayern's 3-2 victory at home on St. Pauli on match day 27, who came up only 30 minutes earlier.
The club has now confirmed that it is a repeat of the same injury that prevented the Japanese defender made his debut for the Bavarians until February.
Max Eberl: “The news from Hiroki's renewed serious injury is getting very hard. He had just fought his way back after months of rehabilitation and has been out for a long time – you can only give yourself through his head. We give him all the support.
Following the absence of Alphonso Davies and Dayot Upamecano, Hiroki is the third defender to be sidelined within a very short time. We will now bundle our resources even more to continue to pursue our goals. “
Ito came to Bayern from VFB Stuttgart last summer, but first broke his midfoot in a pre-season friendly. The left-feet, who can play with full-back or in central defense, is therefore limited to only eight competitive performances.
