OFFICIAL: Bayern Munich Women appoint Barcala as new coach

Jose Barcala has been appointed as the new head coach of the women's side of Bayern Munich, after the departure of Alexander Straus.

Straus confirmed in April that he would leave Bayern for the National Women's Soccer League Club Angel City FC, with his new role that starts on 1 June.

He supervised a third consecutive Bundesliga titles success this campaign, with Bayern who finished eight points free from the nearest Rivals Wolfsburg.

While the Bavarian giants want to build on the legacy of Straus, they have turned to Barcala, who leaves the Swiss zijservette to take the role on a first two -year contract.
