Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will leave Man City after 10 years after 10 years.

Kevin De Bruyne has announced that he will leave Manchester City at the end of the season.

The city captain, whose contract is at the end of the campaign, confirmed on Friday in a social media post that “this will be my last months as a player of Manchester City”.

De Bruyne signed for City from Wolfsburg in August 2015 and has since made 413 performances in all competitions.

He was part of Pep Guardiola's triple side in 2022-23 and has won 16 trophies with the club, including six Premier League titles, the Champions League, two FA Cup triumphs and five EFL cups.

De Bruyne has yielded 106 goals in all competitions and has achieved 169 assists. He registered 118 of those in the Premier League and became the fastest player to reach the 100-Mark in the competition in April 2023 and did this in 237 games.

From players to make 50+ performances in the Premier League, De Bruyne has the best minutes per assist relationship in the history of the competition (177).

In general, the Belgian has the second most assists in the Premier League history, behind only Ryan Giggs (162) and also registered the joint assists in a single campaign in the competition (20 in 2019-2020, level with Thierry Henry).

“When you see this, you probably realize where this is going. So I will go there immediately and let you know that this will be my last months as a player in Manchester City,” he said on social media in a post entitled “Dear Manchester”.

“Nothing is easy to write, but as football players we all know that this day will eventually come. That day is here – and you deserve to hear from me first.

“Football led me to you all – and to this city. Having my dream, not knowing that this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people … Gave me everything. I had no choice but to give everything back! And guess – we won everything.

“Whether we like it or not, it's time to say goodbye. We can't thank the city, club, employees, teammates, friends and family enough for this 10 -year ride.

“Every story comes to an end, but this has definitely been the best chapter. Let's enjoy these last moments together!”

De Bruyne's playing time in the past seasons is impeded by injuries, which limits it to only 19 starts in all competitions and 31 performances in general.

Only Savinho (10) and Matheus Nunes (eight) have improved among city players
