OFFICIAL: Doué named 2024/25 UEFA Champions League Young Player of the Season

The Paris Saint-Germain Forward claims the prize after a beautiful knockout phase with two goals in the final.

UEFA Technical Observer Group has named the Désiré Doué of Paris Saint-Germain as the young player of the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League season.

“Doué has been a revelation this season,” said the UEFA Technical Observer Group. “He made an incredible breakthrough in the knockout phase, went to the final and produced a player of the competition performance on Saturday evening, and became the first teenager who scored twice in a final. It is great to have role models that encourage other young players to shine in the future.”

The 19-year-old hit Salzburg in the competition phase and for his home fans against Brest and Aston Villa in the knockout phase, but it was his history to make the history in the final that really caught the attention of everyone.

“I can't believe what happened: we have written history for the club in French football, in European football,” he said. “It was a great season. We are a great team together, and we showed it. I still have to realize that we have won the Champions League and rewritten the history of this club. It's just beautiful.”
