OFFICIAL: Eintracht Frankfurt sign Ritsu Doan from Freiburg until June 2030

Eintracht Frankfurt has signed Ritsu Doan. The Japanese international comes to Hesse from Bundesliga Club SC Freiburg, where he will wear the shirt number 20.

The 27-year-old attacker started his football career in Gamba Osaka. The first step abroad followed in 2017. Doan spent a total of four seasons in the Netherlands. He made a total of 130 competitive performances for FC Groningen and PSV Eindhoven, scored 29 goals and gave 13 assists. In the meantime, the Japanese player played on loan in the Bundesliga in Arminia Bielefeld. In the 2020/21 season he contributed to the relegation with five goals and three assists.

In the summer of 2022, Doan moved to SC Freiburg, where he grew into a seasoned Bundesliga player. He was on the field in 123 competitive matches for the Breisgau team, in which he scored 26 goals and gave 23 assists. Last season, Doan played an important role in qualifying the European Cup with ten goals and eight assists in the Bundesliga.

Ritsu Doan is also a permanent competition in the Japanese national team. Since his debut in 2018, he has made 57 performances, scored ten goals and offered nine assists for his home country.

As a Japanese international, he has a lot of international experience and in recent years he has impressed Freiburg with his technique, speed and mentality. We are happy that Ritsu is now with us.”
