OFFICIAL: Ethan Nwaneri has signed a new long-term contract with the club

According to the official statement, Ethan Nwaneri has signed a new long -term contract with the club

Our highly talented attacking midfielder, who has been with us since the age of eight, has committed his future to the club after his impressive turnout by our Hale End Academy and to the first team.

Ethan wrote history when he became the youngest player who appeared for the first team of our gentlemen, and at the same time became the youngest top player in the English football history of 15 years and 181 days in 2022, and last season the international under-21 of England reached new levels.

He produced an exceptional first full campaign at senior level, and made 37 performances – 16 of them – and scored nine goals. The first two goals from Ethan came across Bolton Wanderers in the League Cup and he added another, a spectacular distance from distance, in Preston North End in the next round, before he reached his first Premier League goal against Nottingham Forest in November.

In January Ethan only became the third player (after Michael Owen and Wayne Rooney) to score three Premier League goals before his 18th birthday, shortly before he opened his Champions League account in Girona. That strike won our goal of the monthly prize, and he was also our player of the month before February, a month with a spectacular goal in the 5-1 win over Manchester City.

Ethan, together with many of our academic coaches and colleagues, quickly and progressed through our youth time groups, making his England under the 18th debut on his 18th birthday in May. He was then selected for the English team that won the European championship under 21 in June 2025.

Ethan said: “Signing this contract means everything for me. I see this as my first real season in men's senior football, as part of the team in the dressing room. I am so excited for what I can bring the team, I want to help us win as much as possible and to bring happiness and glory in the club. This is where I feel at home.”

Ethan's new contract is subject to the completion of the regulations processes.
