Official | Former Monaco striker Keita Baldé joins Serie A side Monza

Keita Baldé (29) is on his way back to the Serie A after a short spell in Turkey. The first as Monaco striker became a member of Monza for the rest of the 2024-25 campaign.

During his enchantment in Russia in Spartak Moscow, the Senegalese international was suspended for a violation of anti-doping control in Italy when he was a player at Cagliari.

That suspension ensured that he missed the FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar for Senegal, although he was a member on the side who conquered the Africa Cup of Nations that same year.

After having started his senior career at Lazio, Baldé came to the principality in August 2017 with a five -year contract for a reported transfer costs of € 30 million.

Les Monégasques were the ruling Ligue 1 champions when he arrived, and he made some short apearances with the club in the course of two seasons. They finished second in the Coupe de la Ligue in 2017-18 and finished second in the Trofée de Champions Tournament 2018.

He saw little action in Monaco and spent two seasons on loan to the Serie A parties Inter Milan and Sampdoria before moving to Cagliari at the end of August 2021. He helped them conquer the Trofeo Sardegna in 2021.

Baldé joins Monza with the club eight points under the Serie A relegation line after 24 match days, so that the end of the goal was processed in the Italian top flight (21). They have lost 10 of their last 11 games in all matches, including a 5-1 Drubbing against Baldé's former side Lazio last Sunday.

In 185 Serie A performances Baldé 41 has goals, the third best by an African player in that competition, with only George Weah's 46 and Victor Osimhen's (26) Tally of 65 above him.
