Franjo Ivanovic, a 21-year-old attacker, is a reinforcement of the professional football team of Sport Lisboa E Benfica. He signed a contract with the club valid until 2030 and crossed from Union Saint-Gilloise to Luz.
The terms of the deal were detailed to the Portuguese Securities Market Commission (CMVM): “Sport Lisboa e Benfica – Futebol, SAD (“Benfica SAD”) informs that it has reached an agreement with Real Union Saint Gilloise (“RUSG”) for the acquisition of all the rights of the player Franjo Ivanovic, for an amount or € 22 800,000 (Twenty-Two Million and Eight Hundred Thousand Euro), to which an amount of € 5,000,000 (five million) is added according to defined objectives to receive a percentage of 20% of the capital gain that has been obtained.
In Austria he took his first steps in football. Franjo Ivanovic, born on October 1, 2003 in Schwaz, in the state of Tyrol, started his sports career at the age of five in SVG Mayrhofen, where he played between 2008 and 2015. This was followed by a short stint, in 2015/2016, in the Germans or JFG Lohwald. The starting point was given for a trip on German soil that led him to the youth teams of FC Augsburg.
It was in the Bavarian Emblem that he evolved from February 2016, by the Onder-17 (17 matches and 15 goals), younger than 19 (26 games and 12 goals) and FC Augsburg II (42 matches and 18 goals). In 2022/23, after scoring 18 goals for the secondary team of the Germans, he continued his career in Croatia, whose nationality he took care of since the youth teams, when he started his career in the various national teams.
In the colors of Rijeka, in a little more than a season between 2023/24 and the beginning of 2023/24-nam Franjo Ivanovic part in 51 games and scored 16 goals, data that attracted the Belgians of Union Saint-Gilloise.
In 2024/25 he made 46 performances and scored 20 goals for the team of the Brussels outskirts. In the current season, in 2025/26, he scored another goal in the Super Cup that was played against Club Brugge.
At the same time, Franjo Ivanovic made his career for the national teams of Croatia, good for 4 caps and 2 goals for the national team. He debuted on March 20, 2025, against France, in a match for the League of Nations.
He previously registered 35 caps and 11 goals for the youth teams of Croatia, ranging from U14 to U21.
