OFFICIAL: Jamie Vardy to leave Leicester City after end of season

Leicester City has announced that Captain Jamie Vardy leaves the club at the end of the season after 13 years.

The immediate return from Leicester to the championship was sealed on Sunday with a 1-0 defeat by Liverpool who led Vardy to label a “total shame” their season.

Vardy has made 496 performances for Leicester since he joined the Fleetwood Town club in 2012 and played a major role in the Fairytale Premier League title of Leicester in 2016, where he broke the record of Ruud van Nistelrooy in 11 consecutive matches.

He scored 18 goals when Leicester won the championship last season, but he only managed this period in the competition.
