OFFICIAL: Juric ends his spell at Southampton, Simon Rusk takes interim charge

Southampton has confirmed Officilaly that they have reached an agreement today with the first team manager of Men, Ivan Jurić, to end his spell at the club.

Ivan came to Southampton in a difficult time and was given the task of improving a team in a difficult situation. Unfortunately we have not seen the performances progress as we had hoped, but we want to thank Ivan and his staff for their honesty and hard work while they fought against expectations to stop us.

With relegation to the now confirmed championship, we think it is important to give fans, players and staff some clarity about the future while we are going into a very important summer.

The process of finding a new manager to lead us if we try to get an immediate return to the Premier League has now begun and is led by the technical director of Group Johannes Spors.

In the meantime, Simon Rusk has agreed to take the lead over the team as an interim manager for the remaining seven games of this season and will be assisted by Adam Lallana.

We remain incredibly grateful for the constant support of our fans. Their constant dedication and passion, despite what has been a very tough season, is remarkable and is appreciated by everyone in the club.

Despite the challenges that relegation will yield, our goal is to restore a sense of pride for them in their team and club.
