Lafc and Forward Olivier Giroud have made a mutual decision to separate, the club announced today. The last match of Giroud as a member of Lafc is on Sunday 29 June when The Black & Gold takes on Vancouver at BMO Stadium at 6.30 p.m. PT.

“Olivier has been an exemplary professional during his time at Lafc,” said Lafc Co-President and general manager John Thorrington. “He brought humility and a winning mentality that everyone around him has elevated. Olivier is a great ambassador for the club on and next to the field. We are grateful for his contributions and wishes him, his wife Jennifer and his family the very best in this next chapter.”

Giroud helped the club reach the 2024 Leagues Cup final in which he scored his first goal for the Black & Gold. He also scored in the Lamar Hunt US Open Cup final of 2024, as a result of which Lafc helped to win the first open cup trophy in club history. In general, Giroud scored three goals and registered four assists in 20 regular season races.

“I want to thank all fans, my teammates and the staff of Lafc for making this a pleasant stop in my career,” Giroud said. “I am happy that I played a role in the success of Lafc. From winning a trophy last season to participating in the club World Cup, this is a great experience in LA for me and my family.”
