On July 17, Barcelona officially announced that Lamine Yamal will wear iconic no. 10 Jersey for the club from next season. The young person had already extended his contract with Barça until 2031.
Yamal enjoyed a BreakOut 2024–25 campaign, 55 performances for Barcelona in all competitions, scored 18 goals and the provision of 22 assists, playing a key role in their La Liga title Triumph.
In their announcement, Barça wrote: “From Rocafonda to the world.” Rocafonda is where Yamal grew up and after his dazzling versions at Euro 2024 he attracted global attention.
The previous wearer of Barça's No.10 shirt was Ansu Fati, who is currently in Ligue 1 side in Ligue 1 as Monaco.
Now Yamal takes on the famous song while he continues to write his own legend in Barcelona, after he has already committed his future to the club until 2031.
