AS Monaco has announced the contract extension of head coach Adi Hütter. The 54-year-old Austrian manager entered the final year of the two-year contract he signed in 2023. Hütter was then a free agent, having previously coached Borussia Mönchengladbach in the 2021-2022 Bundesliga season. He has put pen to paper on a two-year contract extension, binding him to Les Monégasques until 2027. Hütter's first season on the French Riviera was a success, leading Monaco to a second-place finish in Ligue 1, qualifying the Principality club for the Champions League.
With Hütter as head coach this season, Monaco are third in the league and well on course to qualify for the Champions League play-off rounds with two games remaining, against Aston Villa and Inter Milan. On Sunday, Hütter has the chance to lift his first trophy as Monaco manager, with Les Monégasques taking on Ligue 1 champions PSG in the Trophée des Champions, held at Doha's Stadium 974.
