Nottingham Forest is pleased to announce the signing of Jair Cunha of Botafogo.
The young Brazilian defender has signed a five -year contract that keeps him in the city until at least the summer of 2030.
The 20-year-old defender has joined the FIFA Club World Cup with Botafogo that reached the round of 16 and scored in their opening fixture against Seattle Sounders.
Jair started his career on the Brazilian side Santos from the age of 10 who worked up through their youth ranks before he finally broke in the first team at the age of 18 in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A., he went 24 senior performances with Santos before moving to Botafogo in February 2025.
The central defender known for his length is 6 FT 6 also has experience with the youth arrangement of Brazil with eight performances for his country up to 20, and will help Canarinha to the U20 South America Championship Crown earlier this year.
Jair missed only one match at the tournament and completed the full 90 minutes in each of his eight games that help his country to keep three clean sheets on the way to the title.
