Nottingham Forest is pleased to confirm that Ola Aina has signed a new deal, which extends his stay until the summer of 2028.
The Nigerian played a crucial role in the team's 24/25 campaign, starting in 35 of 38 Premier League matches.
After he had spent a large part of the previous season at the left back, the versatile 28-year-old was mainly used on the right side of Forest's solid defense during the season. His tireless defense saw him win more times than any other player in Europe's top five competitions in the 2024/25 season. He also scored twice en route to Forest's seventh place in the Premier League, including a memorable attack with his left foot in the 3-0 win against West Ham United on the city.
Aina came to Forest from Serie A Side Torino in the summer of 2023 and made 59 performances for the Reds in all competitions. After playing 100 times in the Italian top division, Ola has a lot of experience playing at the highest level and only need nine more games to reach a century in the Premier League.
In the coming season Ola can also reach a new milestone, with the Nigerian international only needs four caps to reach 50 for the Super Eagles.
When extending his contract, Aina said: “I am very happy, I can't wait to continue this trip with the club. It is always like a house since I am a member and I am happy to be here. Now my focus is on preparing the new season well and hard work again.”
