OFFICIAL: Osasuna announce complaint against Barcelona for improper line-up

The Navarrese entity believes that the participation of Iñigo Martínez in the FIFA regulations is violating.

Club Atlético Osasuna today submitted an appeal to the Competition Committee of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the incorrect field field of FC Barcelona in last night in the Lluís Company Stadium. The club is of the opinion that footballer Iñigo Martínez's participation in yesterday article 5 of Annex I of the FIFA instructions on the status and transfer of players has violated that a player who does not come to his national team Squadron for medical reasons does not play for his club for his club for his club.

On March 17, the Royal Spanish football federation announced on its communication channels that footballer Iñigo Martínez had been removed from the team for medical reasons, in particular for “internal parameniscitis in his right knee, as reported in the report received from FC Barcelona.” Similarly, the withdrawal of football players Marc Casadó and Bryan Zaragoza of the Spanish national team was announced for medical reasons. Zaragoza was the only one who became a member of the Spanish training camp for national team to be evaluated by their medical services. It is clear that, in accordance with the aforementioned FIFA instructions, none of these players were eligible to participate in the matchday 27 of LaLiga EA sports of yesterday, because the deadlines established by the regulations were not met.

As a medical leave is the justification for the withdrawal, as communicated by the RFEF itself, Club Atlético Osasuna is of the opinion that this case cannot be considered an exceptional situation that would not apply to FIFA instructions. The Navarrese Club regards players Gerard Martín, Pablo Torre and Fermín López from their second game with the Spanish national team under 21 as a separate issue, because their withdrawal was not justified by a medical reason.

Club Atlético Osasuna, however, believes that Iñigo Martínez, whose absence of the Spanish national team was due to medical leave, was not eligible to play in yesterday's game in accordance with FIFA regulations. In the light of this, the Navarrese Club has decided to appeal for incorrect fielding to defend its rights, the fairness of the competition and the equality of all participants.
