Marcel Schäfer, director of Sport:
“At RB Leipzig we have had Johan Bakayoko on our radar for a few years now and we have tried to sign him time and time again. Now we are even happier that he has chosen to join Leipzig, despite many teams who have his signature for his signature.
Although he is so young, he has played at the highest level for three years, top performance in both the competition and in the Champions League and will therefore be an immediate boost for us. The latest signing sessions are a taste for the new playing style that we will work on in the coming weeks – it will be intense, energetic and fast with young, hungry, promising players. “
Johan Bakayoko:
“I am really looking forward to a new challenge at RB Leipzig. The club has made a name for itself internationally and represents ambitious, attacking football, which is exactly as I like it. I was impressed by the way Leipzig has again and again tried to sign me in recent years and make the recent conversations for me. Bundesliga.
I immediately got the impression that there is a clear plan for me and that I can bring my strengths to the table here in a targeted way. RB Leipzig is a club that challenges and promotes young talent. I am ready to work hard here, take responsibility and want to celebrate successes with the team and with our fans. “
