OFFICIAL: RB Leipzig head coach Marco Rose has been fired

Marco Rose is delivered from his duties as RB Leipzig head coach with immediate effect from RB. His coaching team of Alexander Zickler, Marco Kurth and Frank Gideck also left the club, together with Frank Aehlig (head of the first team football).

Marcel Schäfer, director of Sport:

“We have believed for a long time in our collaboration with Marco and his team and have so far tried everything to reverse things together. Given the development and continuous lack of results, we are all strongly convinced that we have new impulse for the rest of the campaign to achieve our goals.

Marco Rose took over the role of head coach at RB Leipzig in September 2022 when the club was in a difficult position and the side helped to go back to winning ways. He was a total of 125 games on the sidelines. Under his stewardship, RBL qualified twice for the UEFA Champions League, won the second DFB-Pokal in the history of the club and came to the Supercup for the first time.

The club will announce who will take over the role of head coach on time in due course.
