Rennes midfielder Glen Kamara (29) has left Les Rouge et Noir to draw for Saudi Arabia-Kant Al-Shabab on loan, both clubs have announced. The former Leeds – midfielder only became a member at the Brittany Ligue 1 Club last summer, but – just like Albert Grønbæk, Henrik Meister and Jota – he has decided to leave only six months after his arrival. The Finland International only played 13 times this season. Kamara was in particular exhibited from the then Rennes head coach Jorge Sampaoli's training team after an embarrassing exit by Coupe de France against Troyes.
Kamara will spend the rest of the 2024-2025 on loan on Saudi Pro League Riyad-based Silk Al-Shabab. The Kamara loan movement contains an option to make its move permanent. Southampton, Ippswich Town and Middlesbrough reported Kamara a way back to English football. With Kamara and Baptiste Santamaria all left on loan, it is expected that Rennes will strive for a midfielder with Reda Belahyane from Hellas Verona a reported target for the Bretons.
