OFFICIAL: Riquelme moves to Real Betis after 15 years at Atletico

The footballer born in Madrid, who joined our academy in 2010, leaves the club after playing 75 official games with the first team.

Atlético de Madrid and Real Betis have reached an agreement for the transfer of Rodrigo Riquelme to the Verdiblancos.

The footballer born in Madrid joined our academy in 2010 and was a member of the historic U19s who won the Treble in the 2017/18 season. He fulfilled his dream on 1 September 2019, when he made his first team debut in a match against Eibar in the Riyadh Air Metropolitano. In the seasons 2020/21, 2021/22 and 2022/23 he played on loan in AFC Bournemouth, Mirandés and Girona, before he returned to our club in the summer of 2023. He played the last two annual advertisements. Moreover, his performances with our club opened the door for him for the senior national team, with whom he made his debut in November 2023.
