Tottenham has confirmed the signing of Joao Palhinha from Bayern Munich.
The 30-year-old midfielder is closed on loan until the end of the season and an option to make the deal permanently recorded next summer.
The defensive midfielder started his professional career at Sporting CP and made his debut for the B -team of the club at the age of 18 -before his first team Boog followed in January 2017.
In 2022 Joao went to the Premier League and joined Fulham. He soon became one of the most dominant defensive midfielders of the competition and was called the player of the season of Fulham after his first campaign.
During his two seasons in Craven Cottage, he made 79 performances for the West -Londen side, scored eight goals and scored more tackles than any other player in the Premier League.
Internationally he made his senior debut for Portugal in 2021 and has since earned 34 caps for his national side, which appeared on UEFA Euro 2020 and 2024, and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
He was part of the Portugal side that lifted the UEFA Nations League trophy in June.
