Lyon right back Saël Kumbedi (20) became a member of Wolfsburg on a seasonal loan with an option to buy, both clubs have announced. The 20-year-old came three years ago at Les Gones van Le Havre in a movement of € 1 million. His profile and his experience at such a young age have made him an attractive prospect for a handful of European clubs. Wolfsburg has agreed to a loan costs of € 1 million. The purchase option of Kumbedi increases to € 6 million by a further € 2 million in performance-related add-ons.
The loan from Kumbedi to Wolfsburg comprises a sales percentage of 10%. The 20-year-old full-back carries the no. 26 sweater with the Bundesliga side. The U17 European champion of 2022 with France was an unused replacement in Saturday's 3-0 home victory against Metz, as Ainsley Maitland-Niles played on Lyon's judge defensive flank.
