Two of the former opponents of Ilia Topuria will meet this fall on the main map of UFC 320.
After September passes without a pay-per-view, the promotion returns to numbered events with a stacked UFC 320 line-up in the T-Mobile Arena of Las Vegas on October 4.
The map will be covered with two title fights, with a light heavyweight champion Magomed Ankalaev opposite Alex Pereira in a Rematch and Merab Dvalishvili the challenge of Cory Sandhagen to defend his Bantamweight Throne.
A number of intriguing competitions have been set for the Undercard, and another matchup has just come to them …
Josh Emmett vs Youssef Zalal added to UFC 320 main map
Among the periods that form the scene for the Headlining championship matches is a long -awaited collision between Jiri Prochazka and Khalil Rountree Jr., who come after the trips for Joe Pyfer, Patchy Mix, Austin Vanderford and Ateba Gautier.
And the line -up became even stronger during the broadcast of the UFC Fight Night event on Saturday in Shanghai, when a featherweight matchup between Josh Emmett and Youssef Zalal was unveiled.
Emmett, an ex-title Challenger and the current No. 8-ranking competitor on £ 145, comes from a decision loss for Lerone Murphy that the momentum he won with the knockout of the year for 2023 against Bryce Mitchell.
In the meantime, Zalal rose to no. 9 on the featherweight ladder by beating Calvin Kattar the last time out. The decision victory marked the fourth straight triumph of the Moroccan since he returned to the UFC two years after his release.
The only decisions of Ilia Topuria came across Josh Emmett and Youssef Zalal
The newest matchup added to UFC 320 brings together the only two men who survive Ilia Topuria.
Both men were defeated by the then future featherweight and lightweight champion, but their fights with the Spaniard mark the only decisions on the record of the brutal knockout artist.
Zalal welcomed Topuria in 2020 in the UFC, forcing the newcomer to go the distance in a fight that he says the current 155 pound King's most difficult matchup in the Octagon so far.
In the meantime, the extent to which Emmett survived the hands of Topuria could be argued. The former interim title Challenger is the only man who has five rounds with the 'El Matador' and lived to hear the score cards.
However, the American was hit heavily two years ago for 25 minutes in the UFC Jacksonville Main Event, so much even that one score card even lased 50-42 and an ultra-harmful 10-7 round.
