New York Red Bulls Defender Noah Eile would like to repay the constant trust of Sandro Schwarz in him when they visit Orlando City in MLS on Saturday.
The Red Bulls have had an encouraging start to the season and are currently eighth in the Eastern Conference with 11 points from seven games.
Only two teams in the east – the Columbus -Crew (five) and Inter Miami (six) – have admitted fewer goals than the Red Bulls (seven), where Elie played every minute in the back.
The Swede, who played 27 games from Mjallby last season, said Amnewyork: “I am very grateful to him for the chance he has given me so far … He was a big reason why I came here in the first place.
“He has given me a lot of opportunities, and that means that I want to perform and play even more, because if someone gives you the chance, you have to take it.”
The Red Bulls are currently without Vooruit Lewis Morgan, who won the League Comeback Player of the Season Award in 2024 after scoring 13 goals.
Morgan underwent knee operation four weeks ago, but Schwarz believes that he will be back on the field at the beginning of May.
“He is making great progress now, he is very professional every day in his individual program, with the entire medical team,” said Schwarz.
“I would say, if we are talking about the timetable, it could be the next two, three weeks at the beginning of May. I am pretty sure that he will be on the field.”
Opponents Orlando only run on target difference for New York, after they have followed back-to-back victories with a scoreless draw against the Philadelphia Union last week.

Orlando City – Martin Ojeda
Ojeda has contributed to at least one goal in each of his last four home games in the regular season (three goals, three assists).
His six target contributions are most equal to each player in a period of four home games in the club history of Orlando (with four other players).
New York Red Bulls-Eric Choupo Moting
Choupo-moting scored his third goal of the season last week when the Red Bulls defeated the Chicago Fire with 2-1, equal to Emil Forsberg as the most important score of New York this period.
This is only the second time in the last 10 seasons that two Red Bulls players scored three times in the first seven games of the Team of the Year (Cristian Casseres Jr., Caden Clark in 2021).

The Red Bulls are unbeaten in their last four games against Orlando City (W2 D2) including a 2-2 draw on March 15.
This will be the first meeting between the parties in Orlando since the Red Bulls won the Eastern Conference Final 1-0 last season.

And Orlando is unbeaten in four straight matches (W2 D2) after losing two of their first three this season. Given the revival of the lions, they can enable their chances at home.
