Oscar de la Hoya was not happy to hear what Turki Alshikh had to say after he had announced his newest boxing company last week.
The Saudi Arabic boxing Supremo has registered with UFC boss Dana White and the TKO group to launch a new company in the ring. It is expected that the couple will look to create a similar dominance about boxing as what UFC has on MMA.
This can mean that the current top promotors are freezing, including De la Hoya and the will of Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren. It all led to a lot of commotion in the boxing community, with many big names that are not sure of their place in sport.
Oscar de la Hoya hits Turki Alshikh and Dana White
When the announcement was announced that Dana White and Turki Alshikh launched Tko -boxing, it rubbed many boxing bosses in the wrong way. White has not always been respectful for top names, including Oscar de la Hoya and Bob Arum.
Alalshikh said during a segment on the YouTube of the Ring Magazine that he supports “ [White] With everything 'and that it' his responsibility to deliver people and fans the best boxing model '.
This annoyed De la Hoya, who considered it white as “handed Boxing's reign”. “That comment to me – I felt a bit offended,” he told the media in Los Angeles yesterday. 'I have been to boxing all my life. I've been promoting for 20 years.
“So what I want to do is stay in my lane and do what I do for Golden Boy and Dazn, and give the Vecht fans the best fights that can be affected, just as we have been doing for years.
“Working with Turki Alshikh and Riyadh season and these large, championship events sprinkled, it is an honor for me to do that. But I have my business that I will also take care of.
“And nobody is going to touch me there, because we are the best developers in the fighting game and we bring our hunters to championship levels and superstardom, as we have with Canelo Alvarez and Ryan Garcia.”
Dana White and Oscar de la Hoya have a tense relationship
For years, Dana White and Oscar de la Hoya have not seen eye to eye. The UFC boss regularly mocks the former world champion and even branded “Oscar de la Weirdo” for his whimsical behavior away from the ring.

During the press conference after the fight for UFC 313, white was even asked about the possible sharing of the stage with people like Arum or De la Hoya, to which he answered: “I mean, let's hope! I would never say, but that is not what I intend to do. '
It is still to be seen whether White and Alshikh will look to get rid of other promotions or to work together with them under the new competition.
