Owen in savage putdown of Ten Hag after watching just 10 minutes of Amorim

MICHAEL OWEN has fired a ferocious attack on Erik ten Hag after just ten minutes of watching Ruben Amorim.

Manchester United fired the Dutchman after a poor start to the season.

Amorim, 39, has now been appointed as the club's new manager after impressing at Sporting Lisbon.

The new man has already taken charge of training at Carrington and overseen his new players.

Amorim was unimpressed by the team's lack of speed and intensity during training.

Former Red Devil Owen has praised Amorim's attitude, while also taking a swipe at Ten Hag.

Owen tweeted: “There have been a lot of false rumors at Man Utd in recent years but you feel Amorim could be the right man.

“I like his attitude. He looks confident and spoke more sense in 10 minutes than Ten Hag did in two and a half years.

“It won't happen overnight and there is still a lot of catching up to do, but…”

Amorim's first match in charge of Manchester United will be played against Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday.

He has already hinted that forgotten star Mason Mount could fill a key role in his team.

Mount has struggled with form since joining from Chelsea in 2023.

But Amorim believes the midfielder is perfect for his system and the £60million man could play in TWO positions for him.

There are several stars at the club who have to fear for their future.

This includes underperforming forwards such as Antony and Amad Diallo.

The manager has cleared the club's existing coaching staff following his appointment, including the removal of Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford has taken up boxing and martial arts to build up his fitness.

Club legend Gary Neville recently apologized for his criticism of the striker over his trip to the US during the international break.
