Paddy Pimblett eyes title shot as he makes bold prediction for UFC 314 Michael Chandler fight

Paddy Pimblett is seeping self -confidence while preparing for the greatest fight of his MMA career.

'The Baddy' will be against Michael Chandler in the UFC 314 Co-Main event on April 12 on April 12.

A victory would make Paddy Pimblett 7-0 in the Octagon and closer him to a fight with lightweight champion Islam Makhachev, which is today considered almost universally considered the best pound-for-pound hunter in MMA.

The Englishman believes that next year he will be in line this time to face the protégé of Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Paddy Pimblett predicts a rapid finish on UFC 314

Pimblett has no problems fighting for five rounds for the first time in MMA's Premier League.

This is mainly because he does not think that Chandler will survive more than 10 minutes on UFC 314.

“When I was asked to make a five -round fight, they were not sure if I would say yes,” Pimblett told TNT Sports.

“But yes, of course, because he is ready in two, it doesn't matter how much it is planned. Everyone can expect a finish in 12 April.”

Pimblett believes that the beating of Chandler will bring him at a moving distance from a title shot of 155 pounds.

He added: “The plan is to beat Michael Chandler and then fight again in Abu Dhabi in October.

“Hopefully I can fight someone in the top four, top five, and then I can ask for a title shot in 2026.”

UFC 314 takes a big hit

On Saturday evening, during UFC Mexico City, it was announced that the Pimblett fight card took a hit.

Fortunately, the vacant featherweight fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes, who will lead the return from the UFC to Miami, is still intact.

However, the planned watter weight between fan favorite Knock outpartist Carlos Prates and Geoff Neal is from UFC 314.

On Sunday morning, Prates broke his silence after an injury to Neal forced him from the next UFC-Pay-per-View.

The cigarette smoking 170 pounds of competition did not seem too lowered because his fight was deleted.

“News and good news are coming soon!” Prates revealed on Instagram.

It is currently unclear to what prates refers to, but it seems that he will not be set aside for long.
