Paddy Pimblett broke down in tears while he watched McCann at her career at UFC London.
On Sunday he issued a statement that a tribute to the 34-year-old he calls 'Big Sis'.
“Last night, I retire heartbreaking night at my big sister,” wrote Pimblett on Instagram.
“I have been there with her from the start and will always be there, this can be the end of her fighting career, but it is far from the end of me and her friendship. That is until death makes our part.
“Ukmma women's legend first English woman to win a victory in the UFC and has one of the best knockouts in the UFC and combat sport history of Ladies her legacy will live on forever.

Molly McCann explains her pension decision
Just like Pimblett, McCann was in floods of tears during a backstage interview in UFC London.
'Meatball' admitted that she was not good enough to be in MMA's most important promotion after she had fallen to 1-4 in her last five fights.
“I'm not good enough to be there. And that's okay,” McCann told TNT Sports.
“I am not here to make up figures, I am here to win. If I don't win such a fight, I don't earn it to wear the gloves, in my opinion.
“This is the best of the best in the world. It doesn't matter what I have done in my past, and where I have taken this sport, you don't live from your earlier versions. I am not good enough now, that is the top and the bottom of it.”
