UFC Lightweight Competier Paddy Pimblett sent a message to his old rival for UFC 317.
Former UFC -Fedweight Champion Ilia Topuria will be confronted with Charles Oliveira next month for the empty UFC Lightweight Championship on UFC 317. After weeks of speculation about a potential Islam Makhachev vs. Topuria Matchup, Pond Makhachev on to leave the title for a move to Welterweight, Topuria and Oliveira to the belt.
As the UFC promised, Topuria will receive an immediate lightweight title shot after leaving the leash of featherweight earlier this year. It was later won by Alexander Volkanovski about Diego Lopes on UFC 314.
If Topuria earns the Riem on UFC 317 via Oliveira, there is no shortage of options for his first lightweight title defense. One of the most feasible options is a name that has long been linked to a confrontation with Topuria after a feud of three years.

Paddy Pimblett Reignites Ilia Topuria Feud as UFC 317 looms up
Paddy Pimblett remained unbeaten in his UFC official period by completing Michael Chandler in the UFC 314 Co-Main event last month. Pimblett called Topuria in his press conference after the fight, but called the former featherweight title holder 'Irrelevant' in the lightweight title mix.
Pimblett could possibly be the next one for a title shot after his victory over Chandler. He and Topuria have a noisy past, dating from their infamous exchange of words in a Fighter Hotel in 2022.
While Topuria and Pimblett shared a short, albeit during the incineration of their teammates at UFC 312, tensions remain high between the two sides. While Pimblett is approaching a chance at UFC Gold, a matchup between the British star and Topuria is closer than ever before.
Pimblett may not have a root preference in whom the empty title wins on UFC 317. But when it becomes Topuria, Pimblett plans to finish his old opponent in a mean way.
In a recent Instagram message, Pimblett posted a photo of him with the head of Chandler together with a veiled message in Topuria.
“I can't wait to land one of these on El Chorizo,” Pimblett posted.
At the moment Topuria has not responded to Pimblett's message. He has not fought anymore since he eliminated BMF title holder Max Holloway on UFC 308 in October.
Ilia Topuria refuses to grant Islam Makhachev an immediate title shot with UFC 317 victory
A showdown from Topuria vs. Pimblett is becoming increasingly likely after the recent comments from Topuria about the former title holder. Topuria recently said that he refuses to give Makhachev an immediate title shot if he chooses to return to the lightweight division, a clear nod to Makhachev's recent fear to be confronted with him.
Makhachev is expected to be confronted later this year with newly crowned UFC champion Welterweight champion Jack della Maddalena for his chance of a second championship. He did not fight since he defeated Renato Moicano on UFC 311, and the door of Welterweight opened when Maddalena Belal Muhammad beat UFC 315.
