Paddy Pimblett reveals that he has been removed from UFC Return Fight for 10 weeks
Speaking on a vlog shared with his YouTube channel, Paddy Pimblett revealed that he has now entered the early stages of the camp and that his next UFC opponent has been confirmed behind the scenes.
“Now boy, the week is all about training. Spar Tuesday/Thursday, are going to hit pads … have to bring in a few runs. Take the fitness back, get the weight back down. Get ready for a fight.
“It is clear that everyone doesn't even know, but I have an opponent, so it just has to be announced.”
Later in the vlog, Pimblett revealed that he was out of his next UFC fight for about 10 weeks.
Given how this video was filmed between UFC Saudi Aarabia (February 1) and UFC 312 (8 February), which the next fight by Paddy Pimblett takes place at the beginning of April – UFC 314 in Miami is planned for April 12, 2025.
“I did five rounds in the gym, so I'm a bit tired … but it feels good, right away again. The diet started yesterday. Ten weeks out. So I will arrive easily. “
That 10-week timeline was also confirmed again by one of his training partners, who stated that “he is fighting in about 10-11 weeks”, and that the team is starting “what game plan things work for his opponent”.
Although there was no report of an opponent, it was speculated that Pimblett could be set to Renato Moicano or Michael Chandler; With the popular veteran Dustin Poirier recently removed from that shortlist.
Paddy Pimblett shares thoughts about UFC 312 and UFC Saudi -Arabia
With UFC 312: Du Plessis vs Strickland 2 that takes place later tonight, Pimblett would give his opinion about the middleweight Matchup – with his prevailing prediction 'too close to call'.
“Strickland versus du plessis, with how close the first fight was, I cannot decide who I think it will win – it can really go in any direction.
“The first fight, many people scored for Strickland, that first fight was so close that someone has to come out and finish the other in this fight – can go in all directions.”
Pimblett also commented on UFC Saudi Aarabia, in which former middleweight champion Israel Adesanya was eliminated by the rising French competition Nassourdine Imavov.
“It's all a – on Izzy, you know what I mean. Ranged about seven years of world title fights, winning most of them and now he's becoming Bingo'd Bingo Bing Five, it's tough … I thought it was an early interruption, wouldn't be happy if I was Boy. I would complain about that.
'Khamzat is the next for the belt, right? But after Strickland-du Persis it seems that Imavov gets the next title shot. “
Catching up all the middleweight promotion on Bloody Elbow, UFC 312 goes live from Australia on Saturday 8 February.
